Rosemary Olender, MS, CAS, is an educator, consultant, and non-fiction author who blends professional expertise with heartfelt guidance on child development. With advanced degrees in teaching and administration, and decades of experience supporting families and schools, she offers practical, compassionate insights to help navigate the everyday challenges of parenting and education. Her books provide more than information—they offer guidance, reassurance, and a shared sense of purpose.
Mrs. Olender started her career teaching for seventeen years as a teacher of profoundly deaf children. She then became an associate principal for a junior high school, then an elementary school principal before becoming a director of special education. Following her formal retirement, she became an educational consultant for sixteen years providing her expertise to school districts across New York State. Her focus during these years was on effective school-home relations, parent and student advocacy, inclusive practices, special education laws and practices, and behavior management.
Coffee and Wisdom is Rosemary’s second book. Her first publication, co-authored with Jacqueline Elias and Rosemary Mastroleo, was titled The School-Home Connection: Forging Positive Relationships with Parents. That book lays the foundation and practices needed to improve relationships between home and school and, thereby, increase student achievement.
Rosemary’s aim is to inspire change that makes a positive difference in the lives of families, educators, professionals and mentors that want to see children reach their full potential. With an emphasis on communication, both books offer real world guidance and tools to help individuals find successful strategies to improve the lives of those they touch.
“Find the meaning in the small moments in life and cherish them. That is where our “riches” lie.”
